Paul F Yount paints the occurrences of life as one would view a film or read literature. The decades of experiences unfold and reveal them self connecting the artist's life to the viewers life experiences. The two relationships have a similar thread as the paintings reveal a new way to view and relate to the spectators life at the moment. This painterly cinematic connection to the world creates a narrative that has ongoing universal themes and relevance. I am a painter who presents the beauty and the horror of life. I paint the extreme circumstances of the human psyche in imagined circumstances. The reason I am a painter is to rip the flesh off existence and show the truth of the hypocrisy in the underlying nature of humanity in all of its clothed sparkling grandeur. The equation of my paintings is to the unknown poetic human nuance seen in films such as Goddard, Fuller, Fassbinder, Hitchcock, Almodovar, Bunuel and the literature of Joyce Carol Oates, O’Connor, Dostoyevsky, Eliot, Poe and numerous other directors and writers. The assemblage of figures, environments, and themes are determined by a historical world connection and a personal relationship I have had with the past and the present and how I present this in a defined honest eloquent depiction through the blood of paint and images. The opposites of the mind and body disconnected to the space is the search in my art to take this friction and make it connect and present a unique language that reinvents my painting vocabulary. In turn this new way of creating a painting allows the view to see and think in a modern approach.
